Most AI recruiting tools won't tell you what they cost
We checked the pricing pages of 377 AI recruiting tools. Only 38 percent publish a real number. Facts taken from vendor sites, 26 Aug 2026.
Of 377 approved tools, 142 publish an actual price, 63 offer a free or freemium tier, 32 hide behind contact sales, and 133 publish no pricing at all. For a buyer that means the first question, can I afford this, is unanswerable for roughly two out of three products without a sales call.
The AI itself is mostly conversation and voice. 138 tools ship a chatbot and 80 do automated voice or phone screening, while only 31 claim genuine candidate matching and 14 do anything predictive. Assume you are looking at a conversational layer unless the vendor shows you the model underneath.
Sourcing is the most crowded lane at 76 tools. AI interview agents, autonomous tools that screen and interview end to end, have jumped to second place at 40 tools. We record only what a vendor states on its own site: no invented ratings.
The Greenhouse ecosystem
88 tools name a Greenhouse integration, ahead of Workday (84) and Lever (66). Even so, only 45 of the 88 (51 percent) publish pricing. The integration is table stakes; transparency is not.
